President
Jeffrey Hoffman - Mr. Hoffman has been active in Scouting for over 16 years in Middleton scouting units, at the BSA district and council levels, and has volunteered at national BSA events. Mr. Hoffman has served as the Scoutmaster of Troop 19 and currently is an Assistant Scoutmaster. He is employed at UMG technologies as a Production Manager.
Secretary
David Leaf - Mr. Leaf became involved in Middleton Scouting in 2004 as Cubmaster of Pack 19. He was also Webelos Leader through his son’s Cub Scout years, eventually serving as Assistant Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster of Troop 19, where his son earned the rank of Eagle. Mr. Leaf is an Eagle Scout and is employed as the Business Systems Director for Analysis Group. He has a B.S. in Computer Science from Indiana University and an MBA from Boston University.
Treasurer
Annette Kovamees - Mrs. Kovamees has been active in Middleton Scouting since 2012, first as a Cub Scout Den Leader and Pack Treasurer, and currently as an Assistant Scout Master and Troop Committee member. She has two boys that are active in scouting and a third Eagle Scout son! Mrs. Kovamees holds a BS in Business Administration and has a career focused on accounting and finance. She is currently employed as a Director of Finance Operations at Commonwealth Care Alliance.
Theodore Butler - Mr. Butler has been a resident of Middleton since 1970. He taught Social Studies, History and Government at Danvers High School for 34 years, retiring in 2001. He served as the Veterans’ Service Officer for the Town of Middleton for 18 years, retiring from this job in 2018. Ted is an Eagle Scout and has been involved in Scouting for over 45 years. He has held many positions in Middleton’s Scouting programs including Den Leader, Webelos Leader, Cubmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Troop Committee Chairman, and Unit Commissioner. In addition, he has held a number of scouting positions on the District, Council and Regional level. He is currently the Chartered Organization Representative in Middleton for the American Legion Post 227 which sponsors Middleton Pack and Troop 19.
Eric Clayberg - Mr. Clayberg has been involved with the Middleton Scouting program since 2006 as a Den Leader, Webelos Leader, Cubmaster, and member of the Troop Committee, and his Eagle Scout son also remains an active member of the Troop. He has also served the Middleton community as a member of the Library Building Committee and Cable Television Advisory Committee. Mr. Clayberg works for Google as a Software Engineering Manager, and is the author of a number of computer software books. He has a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from M.I.T. and an MBA from Harvard University.
Jeffrey Hawkins - Mr. Hawkins has been actively involved with the Middleton Scouting program since 2004 in a variety of adult leadership and committee level positions with two sons progressing through the Scouting program, both earning their Eagle ranks. Mr. Hawkins is employed as a Product Manager and has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Lowell and an MBA from Babson College.
Timothy Houten - Mr. Houten is the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Lawrence. He has been an attorney for over 36 years. Mr. Houten is currently the Chairman of the Middleton Board of Selectman and a Commissioner for Middleton Electric Light. In addition to serving on the Friends Board, Mr. Houten is a member of the Middleton Board of Trade and the Middleton 1728 club. He resides in Middleton with his wife and has two grown daughters.
Architectural/Building Consultant: Joseph Zelloe – Mr. Zelloe co-founded Zelloe+Weaver Architects, LLC in 2005. He has over 25 years of experience in the design and management of numerous and diverse architectural projects, ranging from small residential and retail projects to large institutional and commercial projects. In addition to architectural design and monitoring the construction process, Mr. Zelloe has been responsible for assembling project teams for high-profile and time sensitive projects throughout the country. Joe is an active member in the Beverly Main Streets, Beverly Rotary, and Marblehead Boy Scouts organizations.
