About FOMS

Conceived in 2009, The Friends of Middleton Scouting became a non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Massachusetts in September 2011, authorized to engage in the following activities: “To seek donations through fundraising events, public solicitation, and/or corporate, governmental, or foundation gifts and grants, and to expend such funds under the direction of the Board of Directors to aid, assist, and maintain the facilities known as the Scout Cabin located at Recreation Park, Middleton, Massachusetts and to support programs administered by Boy Scouts of America units chartered within the town of Middleton, Massachusetts. Said corporation is organized exclusively for charitable purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code. The Corporation’s Board of Directors, Officers, and volunteers consist of dedicated current and past Scouters and community leaders.
